2009 was and is, still, the hardest year of my life.
I lost so many things, I'm surprised I'm even sane. I lost my routine life. I lost my sense of self at one point. I lost my mind. I lost happiness. I lost a best friend. I lost love. I lost money. I lost people I love. I lost relationships I cherished. I lost my apartment. I lost my job. I thought I lost it all.
There were times I experienced pain I never knew existed: pain that cut my flesh into my veins deep thru my bones, nights I cried myself to sleep, and umbearable sadness that derived from my pit. There were times I wanted to give up and loose all hope of getting better. To be truthful, my soul hasn't been the same since. There's still pieces I need to find to put myself in place. I'll be constantly working at that.
But miracles happen around me everyday. I'm surrounded by angels that help me in my life - guardians, guides, messages, signs that keep me moving, growing, and loving. And I'm thankful and grateful to learn about myself, the life I live, and the universe I'm in. I'm fortunate to have the support and energy I surround myself with. I feel untouchable andante certain to achieve my dreams. I'm amazed.
You loose things to make more room for other things - Different things, new things. And I'm thankful for 2009 because I've learned this.
I'm in touch with myself more than ever and I'm ready to share myself with the world.
Thank you 2009

Working and Dancing - Typical WEDNESDAY
...a NEW look for STEPH's Closet...
I literally grab whatever I see in the morning and put it on - with no concept of matching in mind AT all. Sometimes I look at my outfit and ask myself "the hell am I wearing?"...but then I continue out of the house and go on with my day. It's just my nature.
Vintage Clothing can be overwhelming - especially to some people who have never considered wearing USED clothes. I felt the same way until I embraced the clothes. It's like playing DRESS UP everyday with my clothes. I can never get over it.
I've found it the most successful when I help style clients who are looking for new gear - not that anyone needs major help or anything :) Guidance may help open up their eyes a bit. What I see in a piece could be totally different than what others see. Vintage clothes can be terrifying to wear for some. My job is to make it easier. I LOVE it and we get to PLAY. This is what it's all about - PLAYING!
I play everyday. This NEW look for STEPH's closet is to tie my face to the clothes. I've never really wanted to. BUT, I can show that my clothes - off the walls or not - could be EVERYDAY unique outfits - one of a KIND, exclusive pieces that can create AMAZING styles.

MAV FASHION SHOW - International Auto Show: Moscone Center, SF
The MAV fashion show at the International Auto Show at the Moscone Center last Saturday was AMAZING. I was honored to be apart of the MAV community and was ECSTATIC to be able to showcase my VINTAGE clothes. They were a hit. I was able to work with a great group of people and appreciate the opportunity to do what I love and share it with others. I cannot wait for the next FASHION show. Details soon. It's going to be NUTS.

November 2009 - Las Vegas, Nevada
Being in Vegas twice in the last 4 weeks has been quite an experience.
The first trip was quite an impromptu trip, typical of my nature. I booked a plane ticket less than an hour before lift off. It was an amazing rush. I live for it. On this trip I was able to spent time with some of my family - very well worth the $39 one way ticket to Vegas. AND I was able to set up an INSPIRING meeting with a globally, well-known, young Filipino American entrepreneur - Las Vegas' own Chris Julian of FRUITION. I was unable to meet with his partner Samantha but was very fortunate to have spent the time to talk with Chris about his 'living the dream'.
Chris' insight, experience, and knowledge were all inspiring. I was encouraged to see and be reminded that all things were possible. All you have to do is believe and want it. From our conversation, I grasped that work ethic was key. He emphasized on the importance of having a strong sense of self; thus, being able to get through challenges, roadblocks, and the experience of making a dream a reality. It was an idea that was as simple as that - an idea that could turn to reality. He voiced that he didn't have to talk and prove to the public, to competitors, to potentials clients that what he does is legit or even worth anything. His work showed for itself. The lifestyle FRUITION portrayed showed for itself. The culture he created was one that invited people to stay. And Fruition attracted the mass. What he envisioned was LIMITLESS.
What I took from our meeting was strength and belief that someone's dream could turn reality. He encouraged others to have the same kind of limitless lifestyle - as far as taking what you dreamed could be and turning it to reality.
CHECK FRUITION OUT.
My last trip to VEGAS, this past week was for another purpose - another part of my passion - DANCE! I was able to portray feelings, emotion, and create a release through dance - with the help of my friend Sonny Shwe. We took 1st place COUPLES at the KORI KORI Tahiti Fete, 2009.

New York City - Day 1
I'm in love with a new city, full of culture and rich with history. Being in a new place encourages me to broaden my perspective on life, on my life. My dreams seem attainable. My arms embrace opportunity. And my future will be rich, full of love and happiness.
My first day in New York is exactly what I needed. It is the beginning of an experience of a lifetime. I'm welcoming it all.
The airport is warm. The people are friendly to me, rich with passion. The streets are lively. And the smells all of a sudden are familiar. It's inviting.
I'm fortunate to have my cousin Tes and her husband James welcome me into their home. I'm more than grateful.
I'm open to it all and will have the time of my life.
